Call for on-site volunteers

By heatherwoz, 23 September, 2024

The Summit is only a few weeks away, and anticipation is building! You can contribute to the success of the Summit by volunteering to help with light duties like set up, clean up, and attendee check-in. Most shifts are only two hours long. It's a fun way to meet other community members, and you'll be listed as an event volunteer on Drupal.org.

See the schedule and sign-up

Important notes

  • All volunteers must purchase a ticket to attend the conference.
  • We do not provide a discount for volunteers, but you are welcome to use the discount codes described on our tickets page if they apply to you.
  • If you need to cancel or change your sign-up, please email info@pnwdrupalsummit.org immediately so we can try to recruit a replacement.

On-site volunteer role descriptions

  • Contribution room mentor: Be available to help people who are less experienced with contributing to Drupal by answering questions and directing them toward issues to work on. If you'd like, you can lead a small group to work on a certain issue or work through the materials covered in a first-time contributors workshop.
  • Conference set up: Set up signage and registration table; help sponsors find their tables; miscellaneous tasks to prepare for conference opening.
  • Conference registration table: Welcome attendees, verify registration, hand out badges, answer general questions.
  • Conference speaker support: Ensure speakers can display their presentations; support the recording team and assist with any speaker-related issues that may arise.
  • Conference lunch support: Direct guests to lunch lines and help with any issues that arise during lunch service.
  • Conference clean up: Ensure speaker rooms are empty, straightened up, and locked; help clean up any trash or furniture that was moved in the central commons area; pack up supplies for overnight storage.
  • Party set up and check in table: Help set up the party area in HUB games, welcome guests, check IDs, distribute wristbands and drink tickets.
  • Party clean up and check in table: Welcome guests, check IDs, distribute wristbands and drink tickets, help clean up the party area and ensure everyone is out by 9pm.

The Summit is a 100% volunteer-produced event. Thank you for considering a donation of your time and energy to make it a success!
